About Bridgend DIA

Improving the Quality of Driving Instruction

Bridgend Driving Instructors Association

Bridgend DIA - 15 Year Anniversary

The Bridgend Driving Instructors Association was formed in 1991 to further improve the quality of driving instruction available in the Bridgend County Borough.

Other initial aims were to raise the profile of local driving instructors in the local area.

Since inception, the association has grown from strength to strength.

In the last fifteen years the association has successfully campaigned for highway improvements in the local area, organised many successful driving school seminars (which have been open to outside driving schools) and has regualary supported local charities through fund raising events.

When the Megadrive Scheme took place in Bridgend, it was Our Association that was selected by the organising committee to supply the driving instructors for the scheme.

In most other areas of Wales, the Megadrive committee selected large driving schools for the scheme.

The Driving Standards Agency

The Driving Standards Agency now recognize that local associations have a large part to play in the raising of standards rather uniquely consulting with the large national associations.

The Bridgend association has been proactive in consulting with the Driving Standards Agency, nationally and locally. Members of this assocaition enjoy good relations with local examiners and DSA representatives.

Because of the strength of the association, members also enjoy the benefits of local schemes set up with local schools which bring members additional revenue from preferential schemes set up for pupils of selected schools.

New Membership

The Bridgend Driving Instructors Association is always welcoming new members and meets on the last Wednesday of each month (except December) at Pencoed Rugby Football Club at 8.30pm.

See [ Our Location ] for further details.

As well as being a trade association, numerous social events are organised through the year where members and their families can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere amongst like-minded individuals.

Member instructors offer the general public a high standard of driving instruction and support.

Members are always willing to help and support fellow members. Advice and help only a phone call away from helpful members.

Members support each other in time of personal difficulties such as ill health.
